About Sharks

Sharks
have been in existence for more than 400 million years ago. With the extinction of all the living creatures including even the dinosaurs from the earth the sharks too had disappeared, but only for a brief period of time as they returned again on the sea making the dinosaurs conspicuous by their absence on the earth.

There are approximately 370 species of the sharks to have been recognized so far. As far as the behavior of the shark is concerned, it varies from shark to shark. There are a few dangerous sharks in the world like Greatwhite shark, Tiger shark and Bull sharks who make even the sea divers their prey waging a vociferous battle with them in the pelagic ocean water for the sake of their diet. According to a figure to have been availed of, over the human death toll occurring due to attacks of dangerous sharks, only the Greatwhiteshark kills more than 300 people annually including the fishermen and sea divers venturing into the sea.

About Sharks

Except a few specific number of the sharks (10) approximately all the remaining sharks, despite being predator by their nature hardly attack on the humans for the sake of their food. On deep study it has been proved that excepting ten recognized dangerous sharks, the all the remaining shark's attacks on the diver occurs only because of sharks mistaking the diver for some fidgeting sea-creature due to invisible water of the sea.

About Sharks

The average length of an adult shark is supposed to be 15 to 20 fit, while its weight 25 kg to 1200 kg. Out of 370 recognized species of the sharks some are oviparous(they lay the eggs in the sea carpet) while some are viviparous (giving the births to the pups in a litter inside their stomach).

Where on the one side some sharks are too serious, imperious, aggressive and wrathful by their nature, there are many of them to be either calm and jolly natured leaping out of sea water and spinning openly in the air for more than two to three minutes of duration at a time, thus becoming the center of attraction for the shore people.

Sharks are much efficient in fathoming the presence of their food and enemy both, which may be passing through it in the sea water, by their sensory perception enabling them to swing into action and execute the task required to be accomplished in that regard.

Though the sharks generally may be spotted in a group of large number of sharks, they may not be called a gregarious creature of the sea. In nutshell we can describe the sharks as the attractive creature of the ocean.
