Black tip shark is a fast swimming an active shark often leaping out of sea water in the air and remaining there continuously spinning for long displaying its remarkable physical flexibility, in this way becoming the source of entertainment for the spectators. Though Black tip shark's entertaining gesture over the water proves it to be a non aggressive shark, some reports received from Florida confirmed its causing an attack on different people taking the death toll up to a dozen in a year.
The Black tip sharks feed upon vertebrate fishes like herring, mullet, jacks and Spanish mackerel. These sharks feed upon the grasses as well.
Being the viviparous creature the Black tip shark produces 1 to 10 pups at a time by a litter. The gestation period of the Black tip shark ranges from 10 to 12 months by period.
As far as its utilization is concerned the Blacktipshark is not used commercially, for they are killed by the local fishermen for the sake of flesh and leather only which remain restricted only to the local coast. Despite theirs not being killed commercially at large scale, it is suspected that they are on the verge of extinction and need to be protected.
