Being The Largest Sea Animal The Basking Shark Is Calm By Nature

As the name reveals the Basking sharks are found basking over the floating sea water. They were spotted first time in Norway. It is the second largest mammal fish just after the Whale shark. It is supposed to be the fond of remaining near the shallow water of sea and cuddle the human dominated coastal areas. Female Basking shark rather comes close to the shore in the shallow water.

Basking shark is supposed to be a slow sea Shark preferring to remain in the temperate ocean water. The Basking sharks are supposed not to cause any harm to the diver or fishermen despite coming too close to them unless attacked with a perilous intention.

Despite being fond of shallow water the Basking sharks are migratory marine creature leaving one place for another one with 10 to 15 degree Celsius temperature.

Being too large by their size the Basking shark measures 42 fit by its length and 20 tons by its weight.

Being dormant, as far as the attack on any big sea animal is concerned, the Basking shark is recognized as the filter feeder, that is, it gulps huge amount of water in order to swallow the fishes or invertebrates swimming ino that in order to fulfill its need of food.

Basking sharks are not harmful to the human beings and do not become aggressive like other big Sharks even at the sight of any boat approaching it. In short we can describe their identity as mild and calm.
