Being a migratory sea creature the Gummy Shark happens to shift from one place to another ocean water being suitable by its temperature. It can be recognized by its plate like teeth, white spots and slender shape. It is also recognized as the Australian Smooth Hound Shark.

The Gummy Sharks eat crabs, shrimps and shellfish by hunting them from the deep bottoms of sea.

Being viviparous the female Gummy Shark gives 2 to 15 pups at time through its litter. Gummy Shark is indescriminately being killed by the men for the sake of foods, thus enhancing its trade to a greater extent in South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania.
