Only because of its looking like a horn by its shape this viviparous creature of the sea is called the Horn Shark. It is found in the water of central California, Mexico, and Ecuador. Weighing approximately 10 kg and measuring about 4 fit by its length the Horn shark is an active shark. Horn Shark remains passive or dormant throughout the day and becomes all of sudden imperious and too active during the midnight hours.

Only due to its swinging into action during the night hours, the Horn Shark is recognized as a nocturnal creature. Being sluggish during day time the Horn Shark is considered to be harmless sea creature for the humans, but it can prove to be false provided the Horn shark is annoyed by some stranger resulting into its biting the disturbing element.

Its habitat in the ocean carpet are the rocky reefs, kelp beds, sand flats, crevices, and caverns. The Hornshark eats the invertebrates, primarily sea urchins, crabs, probably abalone, and smaller fishes of the ocean.

Possessing the poisonous spines on the back of its body the Horn Shark defends itself from any aggression of its foe.
