As the name suggests the design of its entire embodiment resembling like tiger's strips baptizes this creature as the Tiger shark. It is one of the four largest predatory sharks in the world. Remaining three are the White shark, Greenland shark and Sleeper shark. Weight of an adult Tiger shark ranges from 390 kg to 1000 kg, while its length 10 to 15 fit throughout the world.

Despite being a creature of deeper ocean the Tiger shark prefers to dwell in the mild and shallow water. Contrary to an established notion that Tiger sharks hardly attacks on the human beings, its predatory nature was found to have claimed several human lives(Fisher men) in the Hawaiian waters, causing its retaliatory repercussion on behalf of the fishermen to kill more than 4000 Sharks on the Hawaiian coast within a few year.

Tiger sharks are considered to be fond of several man made products like footballs, rubber and different other waste domestic stuffs disposed off in the ocean water.

Tiger sharks are also recognized as the scavenger of the ocean, as they collect all the waste materials, floating over the ocean water, around them, seemingly either to consume them or play with them enthusiastically.

What they consume as foods include common fish, squid, birds, seals, vulnerable sharks, and sea turtles. The favorable time to hunt for the sake of food happens to be either the mid night or dawn for the Tiger sharks. They happen to be bestowed with an extraordinary idiosyncrasy of smelling as well as fathoming the presence of its prey and thus can very easily accomplish the task of causing onslaught over it and swallow the same within no time.

Besides being capable of cutting out a large amount of flesh from the body of its prey even by its mild attack, it is strong enough to crush even the bones of big animals with its dents.

A female Tiger shark produces 70/80 pups through its litter at a time. Newly born Tiger shark babies are found between 20 and 30 inches by their length, and after coming out of their mother’s womb they start imitating her each and every move/gesture until attaining a maturity to apply their own prudence in attacking on their prey and moving the direction of their own choice.

Being nomadic by their nature Tiger Sharks happen to migrate from one oceanic place to another at a normal speed of 35 kilometers per hour. Though Tiger sharks are not supposed to be useful for any product to be produced commercially, they are killed arbitrarily specially by the local fishermen for their personal use. Such unorganized killings of Tiger sharks is leading towards theirs number dwindling day by day.
